Home Remedies for hair loss
Tired of wigs and weaves? Nigeria, Cameroon and South Africa spent a whopping US$1.1 billion in just a single year on hair products according to an investigative report by market research firm. If only they knew of some of the home remedies I am to discuss. Though not all of the consumers suffered from hair loss. A huge number may be ailing from hair loss. Even the Republican Presidential candidate , Donald Trump is being speculated of having hair extensions.Hair loss is a crisis that showcases old age is knocking at the door. Though not hair loss is due to old age, almost all of us want youthful, long hair regardless of our age or societal standing. When pieces of hair start coming off, to many it is a call of distress.
Alopecia, also known as baldness, refers to excessive loss of hair from the scalp, and is experienced by more than half of men and women globally. Also, nearly 30 percent of people suffer some kind of hair loss by age 30 and about 50 percent of them are prone to it by age 50. In fact, hair loss is so common that it is often considered a normal sign of aging and not a disease.
Alopecia can be caused by many factors from genetics to use of drugs or treatment such as chemotherapy. While androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is by far the most common form of hair loss, dermatologists also state many people have other forms of alopecia. Several hundred diseases have hair loss as a primary symptom.
In modern times dermatologists can have their means and methods in treating this prevalent condition among the elderly. This way, if there is an anomaly, hair loss patients can put them on a hormonal treatment. Today, there are treatments that can inhibit hair loss in men. Topically, they use lotions that contain minoxidil in a low concentration of five percent. And also use finasteride, an oral treatment that is often effective. These are long term treatments but the patient must not stop taking the treatment, otherwise he will continue to lose his/her hair. Since such methods are quite expensive most go for home remedies to ward off hair loss.
All in all there are many home remedies that curb hair fall. Five of these home remedies will be discussed and the procedures well outlined;
1.Onion
One is, Onions. If an individual suffers from substancial hair loss, here is one of the most effective home remedies for controlling hair loss and boosting hair growth. The onion in your kitchen and used as a spice, can actually magically regrow hair on your scalp. The high sulphur content of onions is capable to improve blood circulation to the hair follicles. Onion juice also enjoys anti-bacterial properties that kill germs and parasites. One should prepare fresh onion juice by grinding an onion and squeezing out the juice. Apply it onto the scalp and leave it on for half an hour. Finally, wash off with a mild cleanser or shampoo together with plenty of water.
2.Aloe Vera
Second is, Aloe Vera. It contains enzymes that directly aid in healthy hair growth. Its alkaline nature and properties help bring the scalp and the hair’s pH to a more suitable level, which in itself promotes hair growth.Regular use can also relieve feeling of itching in the scalp, reduce scalp change of colour to redness due to inflammation, add strength and luster to hair, plus alleviate dandruff. It is to be known both aloe vera gel and juice will work. The procedure is to; apply aloe vera gel or juice onto the scalp, leave it on for a few hours and then wash it off with lukewarm water-not too hot nor too cold-, and repeat the process three to four times a week. An extra point is when you can also consume one tablespoon of aloe vera juice daily on an empty stomach to enjoy better hair growth.3.Tea Decoction
Third is Tea decoction for controlling hair fall. Tea is superbly rich in Tannic acid, which can be helpful to control any scalp infection and to promote hair growth. Prepare a strong tea decoction by boiling three spoons of tea leaves in one cup of water and strain the liquid. Squeeze a lemon into the decoction. Mix it well and rinse your hair with this mixture after shampooing one’s hair. Finally wash off with fresh water. Don’t use shampoo after using the tea rinse.4.Fenugreek or Methi
Fourth-it has been presented as the best home remedy- but Fenugreek or Methi is perhaps the greatest way of managing hair loss. Seeds of fenugreek are rich in hormone antecedents that assist in hair growth and repairs hair follicles. These seeds do also have nicotinic acid and proteins that strengthen the hair shafts and boosts hair growth. The procedure is as follows, soak the fenugreek seeds in water overnight and grind it in the next morning to make a fine paste. Apply this fenugreek paste to the scalp and hair and leave it so for 30 minutes to one hour, then cover your hair with a shower cap or other material so that it does not get dry. Rinse off with plenty of water, as there is no need of a shampoo or cleanser. Follow this process of treatment at least twice a week for a month to see effective results.5.Amla
Lastly, there is the Indian Gooseberry. It is ideal for natural and fast hair growth. It is also known as amla. Indian gooseberry is rich in vitamin C, of which a deficiency in the body can cause hair loss.The anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, and the exfoliating properties present in Indian gooseberry can help maintain a healthy scalp and promote hair growth. The procedure is as follows; mix one tablespoon each of Indian gooseberry or amla pulp and lemon juice, massage your scalp with the mixture thoroughly, Cover your hair with a shower cap or any other material, leave it on overnight and wash your hair in the morning.There are other numerous home remedies on the internet but none are more placed to work efficiently than these five remedies. A consultation to the dermatologist may be expensive but should be the last result if all else fails.
I’m pretty sure the remedies will work wonders if one believes in them and has the patience to see through each of the procedures. So all the best in those who want to transform their looks.
